University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD)

Before beginning his professional career in Easton, Maryland, William David Hill attended Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmittsburg, Maryland where he received a bachelor of science degree in biology in 1964. William David Hill also attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, Maryland, where he earned his DDS in 1969. The University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD) has a long history of educating dental students, having operated for more than 175 years. The UMSOD features the Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry with several exhibits and collections of dental tools and artifacts that demonstrate the advancement of dentistry from its early beginnings. The National Museum of Dentistry includes more than 40,000 objects, including the wooden teeth of George Washington and a variety of cartoon character tooth brushes.
